Profiles in MCH leadership: Addressing the needs of women, children, and families in preparing for and responding to emergencies (60-minute workshop)

This session will highlight stories of Title V MCH leaders addressing the needs of women, children, and families in preparing for and responding to emergencies , with an emphasis on processes, resources, etc. needed to be impactful. Stories will connect to strategies and activities outlined in the Public Health Preparedness and Response Checklist for Maternal and Infant Health, as well as the MCH Leadership Competencies. We aim to: (1) continue building the capacity of MCH, Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response (PHEP), and other stakeholders to address the unique needs of women, children, and families during times of crisis; and (2) prompt attendees to consider how they can be catalysts for capacity building and what that may require in terms of their professional development.
