Every Garden Needs a Ladder: Planting the seeds of workforce development among youth in Michigan, Kentucky, and South Carolina

For youth to thrive in the garden of life, they need to be nourished with opportunities to learn and practice new skills, connect with a broad network of adults, and envision a blossoming future. This workshop will introduce Adam Fletcher’s Ladder of Student Involvement in Schools as the framework for planting the seeds of workforce development and future orientation among youth in three US DHHS Office of Population Affairs funded programs. Participants will come away from this workshop with concrete examples of how they can cultivate workforce development into their own programs, a list of helpful resources, and practical next steps to set youth up for success.
