This workshop will explore the practices, policies and experiences of adolescents and young adults (AYAs) engaged in leadership and learning with the New Jersey Department of Health and our local reproductive and maternal and child health (MCH) and public health youth serving partners. Facilitators and panelists will explore new strategies to work more effectively with AYAs entering or planning a future career in the reproductive and maternal and child health workforce as well as other areas that work directly with women and children. This workshop will provide concrete examples of inter-professional collaboration in mentoring of AYAs through leadership opportunities, employment and engagement of diverse populations and strategies to improve health equity and inclusion through promoting mentoring and by providing leadership opportunities.
