The purpose is to highlight the existing inequities in maternal care experiences that can lead to higher rates of maternal mortality and morbidity. Also, to bring awareness among obstetric providers in their practice to help eliminate these. My projects addresses the need to an effective patient-provider communication during prenatal and postpartum visits, need for being responsive to Black women's health and their feelings, need to support women in in all phases of child birth and provider implicit bias training.
