Vector Biologist

Piper Kimball graduated from the University of Nebraska-School of Technical Agriculture in 1982 with a degee in Veterinary Technology. The next 18 years were spent working in the field of exotic animal health as veterinary technician at various zoos and wild animal parks in the US including participating in a large carnivore reseach project in Namibia. A degree in Biolgy from Sonoma State University was completed in 2000 followed by full time employment as the Assitant Vector Ecologist for the Marin/Sonoma Mosquito and Vector Control District in Cotati, California and eventually being promoted to the Scientific Programs Director for the district. Piper served on several committes for the Mosquito and Vector Control Association of California, helping to establish standard laboratory pratices for in-house testing at the special distirct level for common vector-related pathogens such as West Nile virus and Borrelia burgdorferi. In 2014, Piper was hired by Leading Edge Associates, Inc as thier vector biologist and technical sales representative.
