Texas Department of State Health Services - Zoonosis Control
AUSTIN, Texas, United States
My research interests include the biology of disease vectors, vector-pathogen interactions, vector-borne disease surveillance and mathematical modeling/statistical analysis. I currently hold the position of Texas State Medical Entomologist, a position that includes oversight of statewide arbovirus surveillance and vector control programs, Federal grant oversight for all vector-borne disease programs, advising and facilitation of State Disaster Response to flooding events and the mosquitoes that follow, State-wide training programs for vector-borne disease, vector ecology, data analytics, and pesticide applicator licensing. I am interested in expanding and enhancing vector-borne disease surveillance, training, and control using the best practices of integrated mosquito management throughout Texas by collaborating with a wide array of partners with the same goal of protecting the health of all Texans..
