My research area focuses on invertebrate vector biology and ecology, especially mosquitoes, and the distribution modeling of their related diseases. I'm conducting multidisciplinary research projects on systems ecology and spatiotemporal distribution of epidemics such as WNV, EEEV, Zika, tick-borne diseases, and Cholera encompassing a complex multi-system approach in the context of vectorial capacity and competency. I'm developing species distribution modeling (SDM) for museum and open source databases using new techniques and tools provided by R and Python. I also am conducting some research related to pest management in urban areas highlighting biology and control applications of pests. I supervise Master's and Ph.D. students working on SDM and mosquito control.
