Dr. Jennifer Carder is an entomologist with the Defense Centers for Public Health - Aberdeen and Chief of the Pesticide Use and Resistance Monitoring Branch. Jennifer joined DCPH-A in October 2019, and is working to advance the pesticide resistance program. The program’s current focus is documenting the potential for resistance in mosquito-vectors found on US Army installations. Prior to joining DCPH-A, Jennifer was a technical writer for the Aberdeen Test Center’s Survivability and Lethality Directorate. She earned her M.S. in Entomology from the University of Tennessee where she studied pesticide impacts in cotton, and a Ph.D. in Entomology from the University of Hawaii where she focused on the impacts of insecticides on natural enemies of a coffee pest. Jennifer has been an Adjunct Biology Professor for University of Maryland Global Campus for over 20 years.
