Abstract: The mosquito Ae. aegypti is the vector that transmits the dengue virus and other important pathogens in America. Interfering RNAs have been shown to be mediators of gene expression. Silencing RNA is a conserved mechanism in nature in which small double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) regulates gene translation. The objective of our study was to evaluate the effect of inhibiting the translation of exon 5 of the DSX gene using antisense RNA (dsRNA).
