Ian J. Neeland, MD, FAHA, FACC is the Director of the University Hospitals Center for Cardiovascular Prevention in the Harrington Heart and Vascular Insitiute of University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center and Associate Professor of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. He earned his medical degree at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He completed a residency in internal medicine and was chief medical resident at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, and then completed a combined clinical and research fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Neeland is an active clinical and translational investigator focused on the heterogeneity of obesity and its impact on diabetes and cardiovascular disease. He has published over 130 scholarly articles and has delivered a number of national and international invited lectures. Dr. Neeland is a Fellow of the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology and serves on several national committees with the American Heart Association and is a reviewer for many respected journals, including Circulation, for which he currently serves as an associate editor. .
