Fred W. Meyer is the managing director of NCCHC’s non-profit health care consulting company, NCCHC Resources. He works with industry experts to provide technical assistance to detention and correctional facilities nationwide. Services include health system assessments and improvement, RFP/RFQ development, health services contract management and monitoring, suicide prevention, opioid crisis and MAT, health care space design, training, and education.
Mr. Meyer holds a master’s degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and is a retired deputy chief with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, where he was responsible for the largest jail system in the state of Nevada. Under his tenure, the Clark County Detention Center maintained NCCHC accreditation and earned specialized Mental Health accreditation. He is proud to continue working with corrections and healthcare leaders to improve services, mitigate risk and liability, and promote safer detention environments.
