Captain Amie Williams has worked for the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office for almost 18 years. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, a Masters in Administrative Studies 9emphasis on Healthcare Administration) and Masters in Public Administration. Amie is a Certified Public Manager, and a Certified Corrections Manager. She is currently assigned to the Watkins Jail as the Division Commander, the Watkins Jail is Maricopa County’s first fully designed direct supervision facility. Amie began her career in 2005 being assigned to the newly opened 4th Avenue Jail, from there she spent time in Central Intake, and worked at Training as a Recruit Training Officer. Intake was part of her calling so when she promoted in 2009 to Sergeant she went back to Intake, until her promotion to Lieutenant in 2011. As a Lieutenant, Amie worked at the Mental Health Unit, Custody Support, Durango Jail, Estrella Jail, Headquarters, Central Intake, and the Intake, Transfer and Release Facility until her promotion to Captain in 2022. One of her proudest accomplishments was to work alongside the team that opened the new facilities in 2020.
