Dr. Jennifer Bronson is a Medical Sociologist with over 16 years of experience conducting criminal justice research, program evaluations, and statistics/data analysis with a focus on the health and wellbeing of people in the system and its workforce. Since 2022, she has been a Criminal Justice Principal Associate at Abt Associates where she is PI of a BJS-funded feasibility study on Correctional Officers' suicide and stressors and another on collecting maternal health data from prisons and jails. Prior to Abt, she directed a non-profit criminal justice and mental health research center where she led research and evaluations on multisector partnerships to reduce the incarceration of people with mental illness. From 2014-2019, she was a BJS Statistician, and in 2021-2022 a BJA Visiting Fellow. Early in her career she worked at Offender Aid and Restoration where she managed volunteers and volunteer programs in five Richmond, VA metro jails. Jennifer received her PhD from Howard University and her BS and MS from Virginia Commonwealth University.
