PREA Coordinator

James Kenney is the PREA Coordinator with the Osceola County Corrections Department, in Kissimmee, Florida. His 20-year corrections career includes time as a certified officer and inmate records before being promoted to the position of PREA Coordinator in 2013. James provides sexual abuse training for all certified and civilian staff, holds daily sexual abuse prevention classes for inmates, and leads these classes for the volunteers and contractors related to the Prison Rape Elimination Act. He is a certified instructor in Florida and a Department of Justice certified PREA auditor. He has performed over 20 audits of county jail facilities, state prisons, and federal prisons. James is also the Chairperson for Osceola County’s Sexual Assault Response Team and the Co-Chairperson for the Central Florida Human Trafficking Task Force. James and his wife, Kathy, have been married for 15 years and reside in Saint Cloud, Florida.
