Individuals identifying as transgender are among the most vulnerable and marginalized persons in custody. Presenters will explore current issues faced by incarcerated transgender people and jail administrators who house them. Discussion includes issues of discrimination, safety, classification and housing, health care and gender affirming care, and how affirmatively addressing known and potential issues reduces legal liability.
