Ben Rice, JD, of BTR Consulting and Joel Andrade , Ph.D., of Falcon Inc. (collectively "the experts") will discuss a compliance support and proactive approach to correctional litigation in six main areas: Medical care, mental health care, dental care, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance, COVID requirements, and custodial operations. The presentation will touch on all six areas, but the experts will focus on the ADA and mental health approaches. The experts will discuss how they help facilities navigate through compliance with existing class action lawsuits or similar situations. More importantly, the expert team will describe their efforts to help facilities prevent class action cases or DOJ type investigations through proactive planning and the delivery of quality healthcare services. The expert team will walk attendees through Class GAP Analysis (CGA) audit tools and explain their use of on-site tours and documentation review and how these audits can help facilities prevent litigation. These CGA audit tools were based on the review of over 100 expert reports and the experience of attending over 100 plaintiff’s attorneys and court expert tours.
