The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) has launched an initiative to develop and disseminate resources on contraband interdiction systems and practices. Particularly, the initiative aims to assist correctional agencies, including jails, with the management and interdiction of contraband cellphones. As part of the initiative, this workshop reviews the current state of the issues associated with, and strategies aimed to combat, contraband cellphones. The workshop also discusses how correctional agencies can request, through the BJA-sponsored initiative, no-cost training, and technical assistance in the area of contraband cell phone interdiction.
