We decided to adopt the college sports recruiting model and get the candidates immersed in our culture before day one. Before you start the recruiting activities, everyone in your organization needs to have a buy-in. The hiring process itself needs to be reexamined. Break down each step of the process and figure out deficiencies (blackhole) with data driven-decisions. Sponsorship from leadership is an absolute must. Put the right people in the correct spots to be successful.
Learning Objectives:
Know your current state. What are your staffing levels right now? How long is it taking to hire?
What are your Agency principles? What we will not compromise on. Our Culture and early immersion of candidates into, prior to day 1. How we are doing it.
Learning Objective 3: Validate thoughts and opinions through data. Applications volumes, time it takes in the hiring process (activity by activity), attrition numbers and reasons, etc.
Discovering your Pain Points. Creating a WBS. Our WBS is Recruiting, Hiring Process, Retention. Communication gaps. Candidates would take another job because they had not heard from us.
Putting it all together as 1 team. Implementing and Maintaining. We selected the “College Sports Recruiting Model” from recruiting, financial aid, early welcome and incorporating into our culture.
