Computer-based assessment provides faculty with unprecedented opportunities to collect and translate rich data into actionable insights. With a computer-based assessment tool, our school has implemented program-wide test item tagging/categorization, an innovative process of linking test items to essential course and program outcomes. The resulting reports provide a longitudinal view of student performance in these areas across multiple exams. The robust analytics were applied to guide curriculum, instruction, and faculty development. Participants will learn how to implement test item tagging, and identify ways of leveraging the data-rich performance reports to improve teaching, build students for future success, and support faculty’s scholarship.
