Workplace bullying is a real and dental education is no exception. Academic bullying exists at all stages of one’s academic career and can be used as a tool for career advancement to shut down “rivals”. People not in positions of power- including but not limited to students, junior faculty and minoritized individuals- may experience bullying more frequently and intensely. This seminar aims to help individuals identify academic bullying and provide strategies to navigate a landscape of bullying, rise above it and advance academically. Additionally, strategies will be provided for leaders to minimize or eliminate bullying from their academic environments.

Define academic bullying.
List at least three examples that constitute academic bullying.
List at least three strategies to overcome academic bullying.
