Gaps in healthcare caused by barriers deeply rooted in our social systems continue to persist for many. Health equity, in which everyone has the opportunity to live the healthiest life possible, can be attained through significant change. At the educational level, change can occur through cultivating awareness of dominant narratives and creating an environment that uses equity-based alternatives. Participants will learn about the fundamentals of health equity, explore how language and narratives influence health systems, and examine how curriculum materials created through the lens of health equity can positively influence dental students’ impact in promoting equitable care for all.
