The advent of the Integrated National Board Exam will require a paradigm shift in how we teach dental students. The recent Covid epidemic has educators convinced they understand distance education via online presentations as the new method of teaching. Dentistry is a skill which requires hands-on to instruct our students. Yet we accept this passive form of online presentations as an acceptable methodology of conveying our non-clinical curriculum. With active education, we see a rich and developing portfolio of methods and ideas supporting different ways to produce more effective learning.
Active learning is how hands-on meets minds-on.
