Active-Shooter Response at a Dental School: Have a Plan? (Limited to 10 Attendees)

Active-shooter incidents have been increasing in the US over the last 3 decades, and health care facilities are one of the high-risk targets. Together with FBI, DHSS, Department of Justice and Federal Emergency Management Agency, DHS has developed a planning guide specifically for health care facilities, focusing “run, hide, fight” strategies. Facilities such as Hospitals and Dental school clinics have large exposed open areas with little room for hiding which makes them more vulnerable than office buildings. Also running or hiding with a patient may not always be an option. This session will empower audience to prepare for such situations.
