High Point University Workman School of Dental Medicine
How might we respond to the rising cost of dental education? The financial burden associated with dental school can remain a significant barrier to both applicants and enrolled students. In this session, we will explore this relationship and reflect on the potential implications for the profession. We will explore the typical costs associated with dental school beginning with their initial interest, through the application process, and through graduation. The session will conclude with an idea generation session to explore what opportunities there are to mitigate dental education costs at our institutions.
Learning Objectives:
Discuss the relationship of financial burden and access to dental education.
Evaluate typical costs for students before and after dental school admissions
Outline ideas for mitigating dental education costs.
