Professor Aditi Kapur is a clinician and researcher for the past 19 years after completion of her post graduation in the year 2004 from Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Reserach, Chandigarh, India, with the Director’s medal of excellence and is currently working at the same Centre. She was recently conferred the “Distinguished Woman Award” by the Indian Society of Pedodontics & Preventive Dentistry in March 2022. She was awarded the prestigious “SS Sidhu Award” by the National Academy of Medical Sciences in the year 2018 for one of her published papers in the Journal of Clinical Pediatric Dentistry and the “Young Pedodontist Award” by the Indian Society of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry in the year 2015 for her academic contributions towards the specialty. She has nearly sixty publications in various National and International journals and also two contributions in textbooks. Her research work revolves around her keen interest to pursue innovations in the field of Pediatric interceptive orthodontics, early childhood caries prevention strategies, pain relief sedation and behavior management. She is actively involved in gaining a deeper insight into the management and early interception of a developing class III malocclusion. She has recently published an innovative oral health care booklet for young children so as to make them understand the basic principles of oral diseases and oral health maintenance in a non-didactic manner. She continues to work in the field of dental sedation and has recently attempted to propose a case selection criterion for the same. She is also deeply interested in working with children with special health care needs and would endeavor to work on improving the management strategies for their care and looks forward to continue to carry out meaningful research in these fields, which will prove beneficial to the patients and the society.
