This presentation will review the proposed safety curriculum for pediatric dental residents developed by the AAPD Safety Committee. The context of the AAPD's safety efforts will form the background for the curriculum's development along with a comparison of dentistry and medicine in terms of safety awareness and incorporation into practice and education.

Be aware of content of proposed pediatric dentistry resident safety curriculum.
Understand the context of the proposed safety curriculum in (1) CODA-accredited advanced pediatric dentistry education and (2) ACGME safety education elements.
