Juan Munoz Gonzalez, DDS, is a pediatric dental resident with a passion for improving the oral health of children. Growing up in a family of healthcare professionals in Colombia, Dr. Munoz developed an interest in dentistry at an early age. He completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery from New York University College of Dentistry, followed by a residency in Pediatric Dentistry at NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn, where he currently works closely with children and their families to provide the best possible dental care.
Dr. Munoz's academic accomplishments include a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Microbiology, Bachelor of Arts with honors in Studio Arts from the University of Iowa, and multiple licenses and certifications in healthcare and mental health. He has also won various honors and awards, including the Block Travel Grant Award from the National Institute Of Dental & Craniofacial Research of the National Institutes of Health and the Stinski Undergraduate Research Fellowship from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine Department of Microbiology and Immunology.
Dr. Munoz is an active member of several dental organizations, including the Hispanic Dental Association, where he served as the HSDA/HDA Liaison and coordinated with the Bringing Smiles dental enrichment program to increase diversity amongst dental health professionals. He is also a strong advocate for preventive dentistry and works closely with parents to educate them on the importance of good oral hygiene habits, healthy diets, and regular dental check-ups.Aside from his clinical work, Dr. Munoz is a published author in professional journals on Microbiology and Virology.
