Matthew Keckeisen, DMD is a current Pediatric Dental Resident at Texas A&M School of Dentistry. He grew up in Irmo, SC; a suburb outside of Columbia. He attended Wofford College for his undergraduate education and received a BS in Biology in 2011 and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society. He attended the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine through the Army Health Professional Scholarship Program. He was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society and graduated from MUSC in 2015 with a Doctorate in Dental Medicine. He continued his educational pursuits and completed a 1-Year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Fort Carson. Upon completion in 2016, he was assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team out of Fort Stewart as their Brigade Dental Surgeon; a position which he held for 3 years. This time included several field dental operations and a Regionally Aligned Forces deployment to the Republic of Korea. He then served as a General Dentist for the US Army Garrison in Italy for 2 years before deciding to return to school to become a Pediatric Dentist. At Texas A&M, Matthew serves at the programs Chief Resident for his class. He is currently a Major in the US Army and his military awards include the Army Achievement Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Meritorious Service Medal. Matthew will be moving to back to Vicenza, Italy upon graduation to support the unique population of military-connected children and families stationed overseas.
