Shaza B. Dafalla, BDS.
Dr. Shaza Dafalla is a second-year Pediatric dental resident at the University of Louisville Pediatric Dentistry program.
Dr. Dafalla completed her dental school training at University of Khartoum, in Sudan (her home country). After graduation in Sudan, Dr. Dafalla practiced as general dentist and was engaged in community outreach programs, providing oral healthcare education, oral screenings, and dental services.
After moving to U.S., Dr. Dafalla obtained her certificate in Public Health Foundations & Practice at East Carolina University, Greenville, North Carolina. Then she moved to Nashville, Tennessee state, where she completed her General practice Residency at Meharry Medical College school of dentistry. While pursuing her dental education and training, Dr. Dafalla discovered her true passion in pediatric dentistry and her strong desire in helping and improving oral health needs for individuals with disabilities. Dr. Dafalla has become a member of Special Care Dentistry Association (SCDA). During SCDA annual meetings, Dr. Dafalla was able to give a round table presentation about advocacy and Public Health Awareness of oral health needs for people with disabilities. Dr. Dafalla joined a fellowship of Special Needs Dentistry program at Louisiana State University, New Orleans, Louisiana.
Outside dentistry, Dr. Dafalla is a mother of two children. She likes to cook, draw, do oil paintings, and she enjoys travelling and loves music.
