Julie Scott Allen is a Principal at the DC-based firm Powers Pyles Sutter and Verville.
For 27 years, Julie has worked to advance legislative, regulatory and business agendas for national organizations and companies in Washington, DC. Julie represents a range of health care policy issues, with a significant focus on coverage and payment reforms. She joined the boutique health care firm Powers Law in 2019 to help lead the firm’s government affairs practice, and is the firm’s only non-attorney principal.
Julie works to guide the AAPD's government relations and advocacy work before Congress and the Executive branch/agencies. She also supports a coalition effort with the AAPD, ADA and AAOMS to address the challenges dentists face with operating room access for complex dental surgical procedures. Julie's background includes many years working on dental federal legislative and regulatory matters, having worked at the American Dental Association and as a consultant to dentistry during implementation of the Affordable Care Act.
