Mapping of Dental Fluorosis in Non-Phosphate Regions in Morocco

Morocco is an endemic country of fluorosis classically fluorine-rich areas are modeled on phosphate areas. Having recently observed cases of fluorosis in regions not known to have phosphate areas the objective of our study was to define the prevalence of dental fluorosis. This is an analytical cross-sectional study including 2750 Moroccan schoolchildren living in regions where fluorosis had been observed.
The prevalence and index of fluorosis according to age consumption and source of water consumption of tea and fish as well as the fluoride content of well water were studied.
