This course will go over how to intercept orthodontic problems at different ages from A to Z. As interest in the early orthodontic approaches increases, it is imperative that pediatric dentists have clinical guidelines to follow as patients grow and develop. Interceptive orthodontics can manipulate and guide craniofacial growth patterns depending on a patient's age; therefore, it is important to understand which strategies can be used at different anatomical structures at proper timing to take advantage of the therapeutic appliances that can make a substantial change in a patient’s growth pattern during maturity. Dr. Yoon will go over the details of the orthodontic approach step by step for modifying orofacial growth and development with the newest techniques.
Learning Objectives:
Understand specific orthodontic treatment options that can be offered for children's growth modification
Understand the differential growth of each craniofacial structure and how to plan the growth
Understand when and how to select the different designs of orthodontic appliances and apply them proficiently in everyday practice
