The last few years has seen an increase in gender dysphoria among the pediatric dental population. Children experiencing gender dysphoria, and their families, are often navigating many challenges. It is important for the pediatric dental team to be educated on the difference between current definitions of sex vs gender as well as gender terminology as it relates to their patients. In this presentation, we will discuss ways the pediatric dental team can approach these discussions with patients and families as well as practice management changes that can lead to a more inclusive experience for everyone.
