A native Iowan, Fields attended Dartmouth, U of Iowa and U of Washington for his predoctoral, dental, pediatric dentistry and orthodontic educations. He has taught and held administrative roles at UNC and Ohio State as well as Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus. As Dean and Professor Emeritus, he continues to Direct the Graduate Clinic, teach, perform research and treat patients.
