Dr. Helder Baldi Jacob is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthodontics at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, School of Dentistry and Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthodontics at Texas A&M University College of Dentistry/Dallas. Dr. Jacob completed his dental education in Brazil in 1994 at Sao Paulo State University, Araraquara School of Dentistry (UNESP/Araraquara), also receiving his training in orthodontics (1998), and his Master and Doctorate degrees from UNESP/Araraquara in 2006 and 2011, respectively. Dr. Jacob has been course director in Biomechanics and Biomaterials, and is collaborating in several other courses in the Department of Orthodontics and other Departments. Over the years Dr. Jacob has developed expertise in Craniofacial Growth and Development, Biomechanics, and palatal expansion. He has published 5 book chapters and over 35 manuscripts. Dr. Jacob has given international presentations in South America (Brazil and Ecuador), and was selected as one of the speakers of the AAO 2020 (cancelled due to COVID-19). In addition, Dr. Jacob is the President of the AAO/Society of Educators (SOE-orthodontics).
