Dr. Nearchos Panayi is an Orthodontist based in Limassol, Cyprus. He studied Dentistry at the School of Dentistry (1992–1997) at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and specialized in Orthodontics at Tel Aviv University (1998–2001). He is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Experimental Surgery at the Medical school of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, a scientific collaborator at the orthodontic department of the European University of Cyprus, and a visiting research scientist in the orthodontics and pediatrics department at the Zurich University, School of Dentistry. He practices Orthodontics in two fully digital orthodontic clinics in Limassol and Larnaca. His involvement with digital technology encouraged him to use it in Orthodontics, and as a follower of 3D design and printing in the office, he managed to develop concepts, ideas, and methods that transform traditional orthodontics into digital with a focus on orthodontic treatment. He is the inventor of the Ubrackets Orthodontic CAD software for the 3D designing and printing of customized brackets in the office. He is involved in the development of the technology of clear aligners 3D printing and introduced the use of general-use CAD software in Orthodontics for the design of various Orthodontic devices. He is the author of DIY, Design It Yourself Orthodontics book, published by Quintessence USA in July 2021, and has authored chapters on digital technology in Orthodontics in other books. He has published studies on the 3D designing and printing of customized brackets and clear aligners in the orthodontic office. He is an associate editor in the "Progress in Orthodontics" journal. He is married and has six children.
