Dr. Jong-Moon Chae is a Professor at the Department of Orthodontics, School of Dentistry, University of Wonkwang. He earned DDS, MSD, and Ph.D. from the Graduate School at Kyungpook National University, College of Dentistry, and completed the Post Graduate Orthodontic Program there, and he was a visiting scholar at the Postgraduate Orthodontic Program, Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health, A.T. Still University (2015), and he has served as an Editor-in-Chief of the Clinical Journal of Korean Association of Orthodontists (CJKAO) and an Associate Editor of the AJO-DO Clinical Companion.
While fulfilling his teaching and administrative duties as a full-time faculty member at the University of Wonkwang, he has contributed book chapters on Tweed-Merrifield mechanics and published several scientific and clinical articles in peer-reviewed orthodontic and dental journals. He also lectures nationally and internationally, and his fields in research include biomechanics regarding the Tweed technique using temporary skeletal anchorage devices (TSADs). He has served as a reviewer in major orthodontic journals, including The American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, AJO-DO clinical companion, The Angle Orthodontists, European Journal of Orthodontics, The Korean Journal of Orthodontics, Orthodontics & Craniofacial Research, Journal of Clinical Orthodontics, APOS Trends in Orthodontics, Australasian Orthodontic Journal, Dental Press Journal of Orthodontics, Turkish Journal of Orthodontics, and The Journal of the American Dental Association.
