Dr. Dong-Hwa Chung received the DDS degree from Dankook University, Korea in 1992 and was trained in the orthodontic resident program at the same school. After finishing the military duty in Korea, he moved to US, joined Dr. John Rugh's lab, at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio as a Research Fellow in 1999, and received PhD degree from Baylor College of Dentistry, Taxas A&M, Dallas, Texas in 2004. He has worked as an assistant professor at the department of orthodontics, Dankook University in 2005, continued his research on mechanical property of human cortical bone and Finite Element Model of various clincal environment. From 2011, he has conducted various studies on Maxillary Protraction and published several articles and a book chapter of a recently published book, Temporary Anchorage Devices in Clinical Orthodontics edited by Dr. Jae Park in 2020. In 2020, he transitioned to the role of President of Jukjeon Dental Hospital at Dankook University for his administration career as well.
