In this lecture, the use of artificial intelligence in orthodontic decision support for patients treated with or without piezocision will be explored. Automated dental tools to integrate Intraoral scan crowns and tomographic root long axis will be reported for 3D long axis and tooth movement assessment in 19 patients orthodontically treated with piezocision to accelerating tooth movement and 19 patients who did not receive piezocision. The open-source automated dental tools facilitated clinicians’ assessment of piezocision outcomes, that did not influence the dental inclination and most of the linear displacements.
Learning Objectives:
After this lecture, attendees will be able to:
Recognize the use of artificial intelligence dental tools as a decision support systems for clinicians.
Assess the linear and long axis 3D movements in patients treated with and without piezocision.
Discuss the effects of the piezocision in the 3D tooth movement.
