The Surgery-First (SF) and Conventional Orthognathic Surgery (COS) represents two different orthodontic-surgical treatment protocols required in moderate to severe skeletal discrepancies. However, no comparisons regarding occlusal outcomes, treatment time and efficiency between SF and COS was performed. This presentation will answer the following questions: Can SF decrease total treatment time? Does reduced predictability of SF can affect the quality of final occlusion?
Learning Objectives:
After this lecture, attendees will be able to:
Discuss the influence of two orthodontic-surgical protocols in the treatment length and efficiency.
Explain the differences in the occlusal outcomes between Surgery First and Conventional Orthognathic Surgery.
