Considering that the orthodontic appliance promotes the accumulation of bacterial plaque and makes cleaning difficult, its presence can increase the risk of the patient developing caries. Among the various preventive methods, varnish containing fluoride is a strategy widely used in dentistry in order to control caries. Therefore, this clinical study evaluated the effectiveness of TiF4 varnish compared to NaF varnish in prevention and remineralization of white spot lesions in patients undergoing orthodontic treatment.
Learning Objectives:
After this lecture, attendees will be able to:
Recognize the difference between early and late diagnosis in the treatment of white spot lesions in patients using fixed orthodontic appliances.
Discuss the use of different fluoride varnishes in the prevention and remineralization of white spot lesions in orthodontic patients regarding treatment outcomes.
