The management of cleft hypoplasia is always being challenge for orthodontist and to cleft surgeons. Although use of surgically assisted rapid maxillary expansion is not new to treat skeletal maxillary deficiency in cleft lip and palate patients. Despite previous research in the field, questions remain with respect to the long-term stability of SARME and its effects on hard and soft tissue. The purpose of study was to evaluate profile changes in maxillary hypoplasia in cleft lip and palate patients following SARME (surgically assisted rapid maxillary expansion).
