The segmented arch technique is more easily applied to the bracket-free appliances than the appliance with conventional brackets. The application of the force system in the bracket-free segmented arch is advantageous over the conventional full continuous arch wire. Additionally, absence of brackets produce much less feeling of irritation to the patient, less discomfort, esthetics, and it has the advantage of reducing concerns about decalcification.
