Today the orthodontist is constantly bombarded by claims about the latest “gadget” that is supposed to become the panacea in terms of orthodontic solutions. While many of these claims are solely based on marketing, the rational use of technology can increase the precision and accuracy of orthodontic treatment delivery. Custom appliances help in minimizing some secondary effects of non-customized appliances.
