The concept that finishing orthodontic treatment starts when treatment begins is not new. With digital treatment modalities we can now start finishing BEFORE treatment starts This presentation will outline a systematic approach that leverages digital technology to introduce redundancy into orthodontic finishing procedures. We will walk through the process of starting with digital indirect bonding, re-evaluating the finish at multiple points in treatment, and finishing with retainers made from in-house clear aligners, all with the goal of optimizing treatment outcomes. Various tricks and tips, diagnostic considerations, and biomechanic principles will be interjected throughout this engaging and entertaining presentation.
Learning Objectives:
After this lecture, attendees will be able to:
Understand the advantages of indirect bonding and how digital indirect bonding acts as the first opportunity to evaluate the orthodontic finish.
Identify multiple points in treatment as opportunities for re-evaluating the orthodontic finish.
Utilize intra-oral scanning and in-office clear aligner tools as 2 additional opportunities to re-evaluate and refine the orthodontic finish.
