The case for early interceptive treatment such as early expansion and alignment to convert complex malocclusions to simple cases in the permanent dentition will be discussed. Managing mixed dentition cases and protocols for early Phase 1 treatments will be illustrated with clinical cases for deep bites, open bites and asymmetry. Early orthodontic correction has the ability to impact a young child’s life to increase confidence and self-esteem. This lecture makes a strong case as we follow cases from mixed dentition transition into the full permanent dentition.
