The Orthodontist as a healthcare provider is able to provide the important and additional service of risk assessment, treatment, and management of sleep apnea. New technology innovations make such tasks easier to incorporate and provide more objective data, leaving little room for subjective interpretation. This presentation will show how to use new technologies such as imaging through ultrasound, the use of smartphone apps for initial risk assessment, and compare wearable technologies such as fitbits, smartwatches, rings, and patches for both risk assessment, adjustment of oral appliances, and outcome assessments. All technologies are easily incorporated into a busy orthodontic office.
