This presentation will demonstrate how restoratively driven implant treatment planning and 3D printed implant surgical guides can be used efficiently to promote accuracy, safety, and predictability of implant placement from single implants to complex, full-arch cases. It will seek to demonstrate how surgical guides can increase surgeon confidence and skill by increasing the precision of implant placement. The presentation will also discuss the pitfalls of guided surgery and emphasize that guided surgery is not synonymous with easy, fast, or perfect implant surgery. Novel uses of surgical guides will also be presented, including surgical guide-assisted vertical and lateral window sinus elevations, as well as osseodensification.
