Not all clinical situations are good candidates for guided surgery. In fact, there are several clinical situations in that guides are either contraindicated or require different guide strategies to ensure clinical success. We will discuss some scenarios that should give surgeons pause to automatically have a guide fabricated. It is dangerous to get in the mindset of being guided 100% of the time. This presentation will showcase examples where guides are the WRONG choice, and how other approaches may be more appropriate.
