Manager of Major Gifts
AAE Foundation for Endodontics
Chicago, Illinois
AAE Major Gifts Manager Gary Rejebian is a career nonprofit executive with the majority of his work experience in professional societies.
He comes to AAE from the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, where he reinvigorated the AAPD Foundation's major gifts program, built exceptionally collaborative relationships with volunteer leaders to support dental homes for vulnerable kids, and assumed responsibility for the integrity of the Foundation database. Previously, he held fundraising roles at JourneyCare, Illinois' largest nonprofit hospice agency, and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. Gary began his development career as a consultant to nonprofits and later as a writer and donor strategist at the University of Chicago.
In the first half of his career, he served as Communications Manager and Vice President of the Illinois Retail Merchants Association, where he built IRMA's communications function from the ground up and significantly raised the profile of the organization in state and national news media. It was a special honor to plan the Retailer of the Year celebrations and write feature profiles of the honorees over 15 years. Gary guided development and publication of SMALL STORE SURVIVAL, a groundbreaking management guide for independent storeowners. He was instrumental in the formation of national and state retail sales and service skill standards, which led to building and managing two national-model retail workforce development programs in Chicago.
Gary is an alumnus of Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism and Hamilton College. He and his wife Sona have two grown sons and reside in Evanston.
